I asked several psychics, “Do you teach classes?”

Onae answered, “I do. I have a ‘Tuning into your Intuition’ class at Tamara Spiritual Center, on the third Friday of each month from 7 - 9 p.m. People can show up on any of those days. It costs $10 per session.”

Onae leads the class, but the students do the work. People practice tapping into their intuition, then receive feedback. Onae doesn’t tell anyone how to tune in. She helps them figure that out for themselves. People who are more experienced with intuition have time to practice and receive feedback.

Patricia Kirkman teaches beginning, intermediate, and advanced numerology. At these classes, people can discover what their name and birth date mean. A beginner’s class will be held at the end of September. Two weeks later, she will teach an intermediate class. Each class lasts three hours.

Patricia teaches at her home. People have the instruction and coaching, then leave with booklets for further study. The class dates are on her website, www.PatriciaKirkman.com.

Karreen Martin teaches basic and advanced dowsing. She explained that some people use a pendulum, but don’t seem to get the right answer. They may ask the same question several times and get different answers. Karreen teaches them how to get clarity, accuracy, and percentages, so they can trust that they are channeling light information.

Dowsing classes are held whenever Karreen has three students. Classes are two hours long and cost $40.

She also has a class in which students create a dowsing tool.

In addition, Karreen teaches chakra balancing. Pendulums can be used to clear chakras.
For that class, you have to have taken Dowsing I and II.

I asked several psychics if they teach classes. Morgana Dragonfly told me that she is running a workshop series for people who want to find and develop their psychic abilities. She holds classes on the second Saturday of each month at the Mystic Candles shop.  Workshops run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Morgana teaches classes on Tarot card reading, palmistry, pendulum use, creative visualization and scrying. Toward the end of the year, she will present a Professional Psychic Series which  includes four workshops for people who have some psychic ability, but have not stepped up to the professional level. One class is about clients, one is about bookkeeping, one is about taking students, and the fourth one is about keeping your sanity.

Morgana commented that to be a professional psychic, you have to have the mindset which says, “I am worth being paid what you are paying me.” You have to be bold enough to say, “That’s $30 for 15 minutes.” Part of keeping your sanity is learning to value your time so you can ask for money without feeling like you are cheating someone. That is the hardest part.

She added, “The reading is only one third of the experience. Another third is what they hear, and the third part is what they remember tomorrow. People remember what they need to remember. If they swap things out or bend them a little bit, maybe that’s what they needed.”

According to Morgana, nothing is predestined. “Even though I do a reading for someone, I can only tell them where they are going. If they don’t like the outcome, they can change directions. They can change the reading, but they have to do it intentionally.”

Do psychics protect themselves when they do readings?

Yes, psychics protect themselves from any negative energy which a client might bring to a reading or an energy session. When the psychics told me how they protected themselves, they said that they either lived in a protective bubble all the time, or that they did certain things to increase their level of protection prior to readings. In addition, some psychics also increased their levels of protection when they went out in public.

Here are some paraphrased examples:

One psychic said,

“Before a reading, I surround myself with white light for protection and ask for the Highest and Best to come through. Then I start listening to Spirit. I surround myself with the white light because I can become so sensitive that I need a shield around myself to keep negativity away. A reader shouldn’t just invite anybody in for communication.”

Another psychic told me she was trained to Protect, Ground, and Activate herself before each reading. She protected herself by asking the white light to come down and protect her from anything which could cause her harm mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially or psychically.

A third psychic told me that she uses oils to protect her aura. Then, at the end of a reading, she uses sage, incense, and oils to clear the area.

One of the psychics told me that she prays before talking to clients. She also has a mirror in the room so that energy can bounce off of it and not stay on her. She wears certain colors which help the client’s energy stay off of her. In addition, she washes her hands before and after readings.

One psychic told me that she asks Mother Mary to protect her during readings. She has asked Spirit only to send people for readings who were on their spiritual path. She doesn’t want to read for people who are just looking for lottery numbers or boyfriends.

Here is John Hunter’s answer to the question, “Do you protect yourself before you do readings?”

“I do. Sometimes I use a stone or a crystal. I establish an energy field around myself so I can focus and relax. The environment has to be set so that low vibrations are not allowed in the space. I want to know if low vibrations are approaching so I can address them.

“It goes back to the universal law which the two counselors taught me when I was introduced to the metaphysical world. Universal law says that you have to announce yourself, or introduce yourself, before you can approach someone else’s space. Not that everybody does that, but the universal law, the respectful way of communicating or approaching someone, would be to mentally, or consciously, ask their permission. If someone comes into your space, you have the opportunity to address them before they can attach to you.

“In my space, I ask for that law to be respected.”

Kermie Wohlenhaus answered:

“I say a prayer and ground myself. I don’t start my day, or go out of the house, without protecting myself with five layers of Divine light. Sometimes, the angels will ask me to ground even more before a particular client comes in, or a specific chapter is drafted.”

Aitreyia explained:

“I don’t feel I need to protect myself when I do readings. Protection is important until people are clean, clear, and strong within themselves. I advocate it until that time. Protection is like setting boundaries.

“Developing yourself is similar to going to school. In first grade, when it rains, you put on your raincoat and take your umbrella. By fifth grade, you love playing in the rain, and you’re not getting hurt. I have guardians and I don’t feel that there is anything to be protected from. I don’t see the duality of good and evil, light and dark, anymore. My Guides keep disharmonious energy away from me. Jealousy, anyone wishing me ill; they take care of that energy which is flying around Earth. Archangel Michael said that if you go out in the rain, even if you are carrying an umbrella, you are going to get wet. I just have to keep myself clean and clear, and recognize when I need to take an energy shower. If I get dirty, I need to ask myself, “Why?” What do I need to change within myself?”

Maryushka answered:

“I say a protection prayer. I ask for protection and for only the highest source to come through. I am not dealing with minor characters. It’s a quick plug right into the big universal socket.”

Nancy Parsons had this reply:
 
“I have an eggshell technique which I learned from Sherry Whitfield which I do on a daily basis. It is a visual, spiritual energy shell which I place around myself for protection. Our auric field goes out as far as our hands go. Up, down, and around. We are inside of our eggshell. Throughout the day, things come in and out of our eggshell. Maybe we hug someone. Maybe we have an argument with a bank teller. We have a coating around the eggshell which protects us, but situations which we don’t invite can penetrate through that eggshell and attach to us.

“If something uncomfortable happens, I have a salt technique which clears the energy. I carry salt with me when I do readings. After each reading, I use the salt for one minute to clear out stagnant energy. Salt works as a universal cleanser. This is one of the tools I learned from Candace Lienhart.

“Wherever you are, if you are in a restaurant, or if you feel a creepy person in the grocery store, you can use salt to clear out the energy. People don’t understand that they need to be clearing out constantly. There’s a lot of energy floating around.”

This is how Cyndi Clarke protects herself:

“I put the white light of Christ around us. Everything I do is Christ-based. I call in all of our Guides, guards, teachers, angels, loved ones, and extra-specials. Years ago, we couldn’t say 'extra-terrestrials,' so we called them 'extra-specials.' I call upon all of those people who are in our energies to help be our gate keepers and protect us. Depending on the group, I may do the Lord’s prayer.”

Finally, Jesse Ann Nichols George answered:

“At one time, I thought I needed to protect myself because I was opening many energies and I wasn’t certain what I was opening. A lot of energies were coming in. As I evolved, I realized that I didn’t need protection from other energies as much as I needed to keep myself in a clear and pure state. I started operating at a vibrational frequency which automatically kept negativity out.”

Quote from a Channeled Message - Time is Flying

The changes that are coming towards the end of the year are going to pick up speed. Things are going to pick up very quickly. You will find time flying.

I inherited a ring from my mother-in-law. It’s beautiful, but I don’t know what type of stone it holds. It is either a fairly common citrine, or it is a rare Imperial Topaz. I like to think it’s an exquisite topaz. If it’s pretty, does it make a difference what the stone is? In some ways, yes. I enjoy wearing a beautiful citrine ring, but I feel extra-special wearing an Imperial Topaz. It’s the same ring! I laugh at myself, at my human-ness.

Synthetic stones and naturally-mined stones are exactly the same physical composition, yet we value the natural stones more highly. I have a ruby ring, but I’m not certain if it is completely natural or if it is a composite. Either way, it’s lovely . . . but I want to know what it is!

With gemstones, if we are willing to pay for an appraisal, we can certify authenticity and value. In the psychic/spiritual realm, confirmation isn’t as easy. Confirmation relies on our feelings, and on our reactions to the pieces of information coming through psychics. Can we corroborate the messages about our past, our personality, and/or our friends? Can we listen to the messages from a Medium and affirm that the messages are from our people who have passed?

We wrangle with the inability to know for sure. We search for Confirmation.

Being human is a joy and a challenge. We can believe whatever we want to believe but, underneath, facts remain. A stone is either a citrine or a topaz. The afterlife exists or it doesn’t. Some things are easy to substantiate, others take a while.

The jewelry – Why do we care if the stone is real or not? Who cares what type of ruby it is? We care because these things are a reflection of how we think about ourselves: Did I get a good deal? Am I wearing a RUBY? Was I scammed? Am I a chump?

The psychics – Do they really have a strong connection to unseen worlds? Did I actually get such helpful information for so little money? Did I pay too much for a reading? Was I scammed?

I have been fortunate to have had enough psychic readings in my life to know that a connection to the other side exists. This stuff could not have been fabricated. I have also had my own experiences of knowing things I should not have been able to know. Confirmation.

You have to find a jeweler who you trust and you have to find a psychic who you trust too.

From a Channeled Message - Changing Focus from Oneness to Individuality

The more you can become aware of the oneness of all things, the more you can focus that energy, that consciousness, that awareness, into a pinpoint of light which affects you, individually.

The difference between the oneness of all and the uniqueness of that which you perceive to be your own essence, whether embodied or disembodied, is in your point of awareness.

[This is like changing the focus on a camera lens. Different elements come into focus.]

You can expand your focus so that your individuality merges into the oneness.

Don’t be afraid of merging into the oneness, for the individuality remains. Each molecule of water which exists in the ocean is still a molecule of water, individualized. It is a vital essence, an essential part of the ocean in which it has its being.

Each of you, while merged into the oneness of all things, maintains your individuality, maintains your focused laser of consciousness which makes you unique; which makes you the wonderful lights that you are.

I want more. More book sales. More visitors to the Psychic Fair. More blog readers. I think it’s human nature to want more; to want to take things to the next level.

At the same time, we can live in gratitude for all that we already have. A recent message from Spirit, channeled through a psychic, reminded me of the importance of appreciating what we already have in our lives. Sometimes our focus is too narrow. It is similar to someone who has crossed the oceans, survived the waves, survived the jellyfish, survived the whales, the sharks, the drowning, the exhaustion, the heat, and the lack of water, only to find land and say, “Darn, look at my clothes. I worked so hard to save my clothes.”

The message went on: “It is important to acknowledge and give thanks for the miracles received, drawn, and begged. It is in gratitude that those things magnify and continue, not in the continuous digging in: ‘Is there more? Is there more? Is there more?’ You can spend the rest of your life digging for more, or you can spend every second of your life in complete gratitude; living in joy.”

On the other hand, it is natural for us to follow our curiosity about everything so that we continue to move forward and raise our vibration.

John Hunter told me the story of a low vibrational conscious energy which entered a rock just to see what that was like.

After a long time as a rock, the consciousness wanted to know about a different situation in which rocks were placed. Motivated by this curiosity, it was able to upgrade to a different rock location. Through curiosity, this consciousness continued to change vessels, always upgrading its vibration. Over eons of evolution, this consciousness eventually inhabited a human body. Who knows where it might go next?

We can continue to strive for “more and better,” while also appreciating how far we have come.

              Overheard at the Psychic Fair - Risks

A sad woman said to a psychic, “I’ve taken so many risks in my life and none of them paid off.”

The Psychic responded, “You considered them ‘risks’ because they were actions which were not aligned with the truth of who you are. That’s why they didn’t work out. If you had taken risks which aligned with your true self, things might have worked out better.”

A “risk” aligned with our true self is always a better idea.
