Some people pass to The Other Side quickly and easily. You might remember Randy saying that he “just slipped over.” Other people seem to be in the dying process for years before their death.
Here’s the confusing part about Gene’s death. He had a debilitating stroke and was hospitalized. He was conscious, then he was unconscious. After ten days he passed away. Why did it take ten days?
As metaphysicians we ask, “If he knew where he was going and that he would be alright, why wasn’t he in more of a hurry to get there?”
The nurse said that prior to the stroke, he had a strong body and the body was able to fight the effects of the stroke. While his brain had been impacted, it took a while for the rest of his body to feel the consequences. His body had to catch up with his brain.
Another explanation is that he was waiting for his loved ones to arrive at the hospital and say their “good-byes” before he left. People needed time to travel and a few days to adjust to the situation.
We all operate with mind, body and spirit, and they aren’t always in sync with each other. Gene’s brain was impacted, but his body wouldn’t let go. His spirit might have been ready to go, but his mind was replaying the mantra that he was here to take care of his wife. His mind was stuck in this loop, while his body was failing. We are just speculating here. We don’t have a way to know what he was going through. Someday, we hope to hear his story, from him.
I asked one of my mystic friends why the passing of someone who was so in tune with spirit might take ten days? He answered that when a person is ready to go, they go. Apparently, Gene wasn’t ready to go or he would have gone. No machines, no interventions, can keep someone alive when they are ready to pass.
After things have calmed down, after a period of grief, we hope to hear from Gene. We have so many questions! We would like to hear that he is adjusting well to the non-physical world. We would love to hear that he has reconnected with those he loved who are already on The Other Side. We would enjoy hearing an explanation of his dying process. Every death is different. We can learn from each of them.
I will leave you with a message which Gene recently channeled. We were talking about being stuck in life, but this might also apply to being stuck between life and death. Gene said:
“Sometimes as you go through your development process on Earth, you find yourself stuck, or bored. It doesn’t need to be resisted.
“When you have been exposed to more and more things in spirit, sometimes a body and a spirit need to stop for a little bit to allow yourself to breathe in and give thought to that which you have been learning. Don’t resist. Don’t beat yourself up if you seem to be bored or stuck, or don’t have the ‘go go get ’em’ kind of energy that you looked forward to having. Sometimes you need to take a while to absorb, understand, and draw in all the lessons that you have had, before you pick up the pace again.”
Perhaps Gene was taking a moment to understand and draw in his lessons before passing to The Other Side.
Rest in peace, Gene. We will miss you here, and we hope to hear from you again.
