I asked Vee, “What do you offer at the Psychic Fair?”

Vee answered:

“First, I make sure I am a good fit for the client. If I’m not a good fit, I’ll steer them to someone else.

“Then, if they sit at my table, I ask if they have had a reading before and I ask about their experience. I also ask when the last time was that they had a reading.

“After that, I write their name forwards and backwards. I ask for their first and middle names. People often put on masks. When you write their name backwards, you get the vulnerable side of them. Then, words and phrases begin to appear. Images appear based on the first and middle names, written backwards.

“I was writing one woman’s name today and the letters R-E-T came up when I wrote it backwards and forwards. Spirit showed me the word ‘Retired.’ I asked if she wanted to retire and that was exactly what she wanted to do.

“I don’t time the readings because I don’t know when my Guides will be done with all the information they have to give.

“I encourage people to record readings. I had a couple of ‘psychic virgins’ who had never had a reading before. I told them to record me.”

I inquired, “Do people ask questions?”

Vee answered, “No. Not really.

“Right away, my Guides start telling them what they see. I tell them what my Guides are telling me. Afterwards, I ask if they have questions or if they need clarification. It depends on the person. Sometimes they come for a specific purpose. Sometimes they come to see general things. We provide answers that they generally don’t expect.

“I don’t have a specific area of expertise. The number one area I am asked about is relationships – always. Usually it’s, ‘When am I going to meet somebody?’  

“I’ve answered questions related to sexual abuse. I’ve been asked about people who have passed away. I don’t see myself as an expert of anything, except trusting what my Guides tell me to say.

“I am predominantly clairaudient – hearing clearly. Then, I’m clairvoyant – seeing clearly. It’s a mix. Whatever I hear, I tell the person. The Guides are on my right side. I have 13-1500 Guides. I started with one, then they grew; they started coming in groups. I was reading people all over the world, so I had to have Guides who were culturally connected.

“In addition, I have 14 other gifts.

“The only tool I use is writing their first and middle names. I don’t do Tarot or astrology or numerology. To me, those are sciences.

“I have been doing this work for the past 20 years. Before that, I had done readings without knowing they were readings. I was always right. I just didn’t know what it was called.”

I asked, “What makes you different from other readers at the Fair?”  

Vee answered, “To be perfectly blunt? I am a woman of color. There is no one here of color. I have a perspective that no one else has here. I recognized the necessity of improving the cultural make-up of this fair.”

I have been blogging about psychics and spirituality for 10 years! This is “My Psychic Search’s” 10th Blogiversary. To celebrate, I am sharing 10 things I have learned.

1) Psychic communication is a blend. One psychic said intuition is, “A little bit of me, a little bit of you, and a little bit of Spirit.”

2) Each psychic works in a unique way, but they all tap into the same source of information and inspiration.

3) Some of my best friends are psychic. I enjoy their positive attitude towards life.

4) Your death is a continuation of your life. If you were easy-going and enlightened, your death and transition to the other side will be that way too. If you were fearful and didn’t want to let go, your transition will be more difficult as you continue to cling to the physical realm. We know this by hearing from people after death. They tell us what happened. I would love to hear more stories from the recently departed.

5) What you wish for others is what you receive. If you sincerely wish for peace and prosperity for others, you, too, will receive peace and prosperity.

6) Even the best psychics and healers doubt themselves. They wonder whether they have a positive impact on others. Those who don’t have doubts, should. They may need to keep their ego in check.

7) People do this work out of love, curiosity, and a desire to be of service to others. It is not, generally, a money-making venture.

8) My life is better and richer for asking these questions and immersing myself in the answers. The tagline for my new website is “Asking Life’s Big Questions.”

9) Everyone has intuitive moments – a deep feeling of connection often followed by goose-bumps.

10) We have free will on both sides of the Veil. Nothing is imposed upon us against our will.

Bonus 11) Forward progress is what counts. We may not feel like we are achieving every goal, but steady progress towards intuition, understanding, or any target, is rewarding. Progress isn’t measured in terms of magnitude, but in terms of direction. As they said in the 60s, “Keep on keeping on.”

The latest message I received through a psychic was to stop overanalyzing what was happening in my psychic development. It’s all the same thing: the messages, the doubt, the knowing. There is no need to parse every experience. They are what they are. Enjoy the whole package. Okay. I will.

                                       Quote through a Psychic - Lessons Learned

“You have been through times when the river has run high and when the river has run low. It doesn’t mean that you have to like it, but it means that you are able to rise above it. You are able to get through it and you are wiser and more protected than ever.”

Since the beginning of July, I have experienced things I can’t explain. I don’t know if my psychic abilities are becoming stronger, or if I have an electrical issue in my house.

When I transcribe recordings of psychic interviews, channeled messages, and personal readings, I sit at my desk. I upload the recordings to my computer and I put on headphones. I use transcription software and a foot pedal to listen to the recordings. My fingers are on the keyboard and my foot is on the pedal. I press down on the foot pedal, hear a few words through the headphones, then type those words. Easy peasy.

Recently, I’ve heard things which are not on the recordings. Hmmm.

In the middle of my recording of Onae’s reading, I heard someone talking about needing a new refrigerator. I went back and listened, but the words weren’t there. I wondered if there was something wrong with my refrigerator and if this was a hint to start shopping.

A few days later, I was transcribing a channeling session and I heard music. I rewound the recording and listened a second time, but the music wasn’t there.

Later, I pressed the foot pedal and heard a man’s voice say, “Thank you.” I was thrilled. Someone from the non-physical universe had broken through my electronics to send me a message: “Thank you.” You are welcome!

Sometimes words came to me when my foot was on the pedal, but sometimes, I just heard them through the headphones when I was not transcribing. Woo-woo-woo.

A day later, I was transcribing and I heard music. Rewound the recording. Not there.

I kept transcribing and hoping for more messages.
 
On Saturday, I was working on a recording when I heard a woman say, “My name is . . .” I was ecstatic! Someone from the other side was contacting me! I asked, “Who are you? Tell me more.”

I pushed my foot pedal and heard, “My name is Ramona Carrasco and I have three daughters. One of them needed a special school . . .” It was coming so fast, I couldn’t type all she had to say! I said, “Wait! I didn’t get it. Can you tell me again?” I pushed the pedal and she repeated, “My name is Ramona Carrasco and my daughter has Down Syndrome.” She went on to tell me how she uses Arizona’s school choice vouchers to send her daughter to a special school. She told me to check out a website. Huh? What the heck was this? I thought I was getting messages from the spirit world, and this message was telling me to check out a website? So I did. I searched the internet until I located the website for Arizona school choice where there was a video of Ramona Carrasco explaining how her child benefitted from going to a special school.

I sat back in my chair, deflated. What the heck was this? Was I psychic? I had been so excited. Was I having a computer glitch? My computer “wires” were crossed and I was picking up a website? Made no sense (I say that a lot these days).

At least now I had something to go on. I had found the website where I could see this woman’s video.

My husband is a computer guy so I told him about this. He wondered if I had a malware issue which could have caused this to occur. He checked my computer. Nope. No malware. Nothing wrong. Another hmmm.

What was going on?

One psychic told me that she had opened a book and it had opened her abilities. Maybe Spirit was trying to reach me through the tool I most use – my computer. Anything can be a tool for psychic development: a book, a reading, a computer.

Are my psychic abilities developing through my computer? Am I tapping into the non-physical and hearing messages through my headphones? Is there some sort of computer bleed through? Is someone from the non-physical world learning how to manipulate my computer to let me know that they are there? I have heard that the easiest way for spirits to communicate is electronically: blinking lights and playing music on the radio.  

Or, was my computer having a technical issue?

I was overjoyed when someone said, “Thank you.” I was delighted when a woman identified herself. I was less enthused when I found out that I was tapping into an online video. What will happen next? If anything interesting happens, I will let you know.

"Do you mean besides having fun? Besides learning that the world has always spun in the palm of your hand? Besides bicycles, long walks, and hot chocolate? Besides holding hands, giving hugs, and drying tears? Besides having a dream and making it come true? Besides February, Fridays, and Polar Bears? Besides witnessing miracles that only you are privy to? Besides sunrises, sunsets, and every rare and fleeting moment in between?"

The Universe

In June, I had a full psychic reading with Onae. She read Tarot cards and also connected as a Medium. I thought I would share this story to help people understand how readings work and to show that people who cross to the other side retain their personalities . . . at least for a while.

At the beginning of the reading, information came through the cards, but we didn’t know who to assign it to. Onae asked, “Did your daughter just move?” I answered, “Not yet, but in the next few weeks.” She wondered, “Is she moving to follow her passion?” I answered, “Not really.” After the reading I realized that my husband was changing his business arrangements to enjoy his life. Were the cards showing my husband moving to follow his passion, not my daughter?  

Onae told me that someone was heartbroken over a separation. She asked, “Is it you?” It took us a while to determine it was my mother. She had died in February and was heartbroken that she had to leave.

We never want to stretch too far to make intuitive messages fit the facts, but sometimes a little detective work is required. Ask a question or two if you need to clarify information or its source.

Once Onae and I realized my mother had connected, information and images started coming from her, but they were halting. Bits and pieces. No explanation.

Then my father came through, standing next to me, with warm fuzzy feelings and images. I still had to figure out what he was talking about, but he was standing next to me and beaming love. My mother was “way over there.” Onae asked if my mother had been distant in life? Yes, she had been. Onae wondered if my mother had trouble conveying warm emotions? Yes. Well, guess what? That was what we were dealing with during this reading.

My mother was willing to connect and present images, but there were no emotions. Onae told me that this situation was rare. Most of the time, the deceased connect and Onae feels their love, or their sorrow, or their regret. The emotional component helps her understand the imagery. With my mother, there was no emotional component. She was very guarded. Onae said that in life my mother had hid her emotional issues from everyone, including herself. This had created an emotional wall which was still in place.

Onae went on to say, “Because of this death and transformation, she is now learning and healing herself. The angels are around her and she is still learning about the heartache that she had. She will be okay. In the meantime, she is sorry. Even though she is not there emotionally for you, she is sorry about the upset.”
 
Onae added, “It was a little rough going in the beginning of the reading because of your mom. Typically, I get the emotions and the symbols and the visions, but she was holding back. I’m like, ‘You’ve got to work with me lady.’”

“They are the same way there that they were here. If she was being cold and keeping her distance when she was here, she was doing it with me now.”

Onae reminded me that when people cross, they retain their personalities. I think that as they work through their life review, they may be trying to defend their decisions and positions in life. As they begin to see the role they played and how their choices impacted their lives and others, they slowly release their personality and see the bigger picture of who they are.

It’s a process. It’s an expansion from focusing on the single, just-completed life, to remembering that they are a conscious being moving in and out of lifetimes, trying to experience everything. Souls pick a theme for each lifetime. They design life lessons and create a life purpose. In the afterlife, they integrate those experiences into the bigger version of who they are -- their Higher Self.

Around we go on the Wheel of Incarnation.

So much information came through during Onae’s reading that I can’t relay it all in a blog post. Suffice it to say, once we figured out what was going on, things made sense. Messages came through and, yes, the psychic was right.

This is from the February 2018 Oprah Magazine in which Oprah interviewed RuPaul:

Oprah asks RuPaul: What do you think your true purpose on earth is?

RuPaul answers: I was gonna say something unselfish, but actually I think it starts with me. The first thing is for me to experience this life and enjoy it. And if I enjoy it, I could possibly share that with other people.

Oprah responds: That’s one of the best answers I’ve heard. So many people wonder, “What’s my higher purpose?” Your purpose is to be, and to experience life on this planet in its fullness. And if you choose to do something else, that’s okay. What we’re all actually seeking is the truest expression of ourselves.

Tuesday night I had a dream in which I had missed the deadline to write a piece of fiction. I was given the opportunity to turn it in the following day. I started writing this in my dream then, when I woke up, the words continued to flow. I don’t know if I wrote this, or if the older guy whose voice I heard in my mind, wrote it. Some of these ideas are things I have heard, other thoughts are new to me. Here goes:


Although I always knew things about people and places, psychic ability was a tricky thing. Good, yet unreliable. Hints and pieces, but never the whole story. One time, I walked into a store and I knew where the candy jars could be found. Never been there before.

One time, I landed in a foreign country and knew where all the old buildings were located. Not the new ones; the buildings which had been constructed in the 18th century. That odd feeling of deja vu, “I know this place,” surrounded me.

I often found myself at parties, deep in the evening mist, meeting just the right people. The people who could compel my goals and projects forward. I had an uncanny ability to bump into the movers and shakers I needed to meet. Despite this, my life never quite moved or shook. It proceeded forward, looking like a normal life, but with this undercurrent of mystery. As if I was walking along a path, then stopping to dip my toe into the stream of knowledge. Oops. Back on the path.

One summer, I was vacationing with my son when he fell off a small boat. No big tragedy, but a feeling of knowing it was meant to be. I was ready to jump in and pull him out, as if the whole thing had been described to me in advance.

I never knew quite what to do with my abilities and insights. I married, I had children, I lived, laughed, and loved, but I always knew something was playing in the background. As if I was a puppet, an actor in a play, a person in the role of a lifetime. Many times I stopped to admire the simplicity of my life.

Oh, I knew things. I knew beforehand when someone would die. Once or twice, I saw them move into the Light. The soul rising from the body, a glowing head, a purple light body, both of us feeling the joy of the soul returning to the Light. I’m not exactly sure where it went, but it was a joyous place. A joyous place.

I learned to listen to my life’s clues and I learned not to say too much. Not everyone understood the broader perspective. Some people recoiled when I mentioned that death was just a transition to another part of life, or when I told them that the cherries would fall off the trees in the wrong season. How did I know? I don’t know.

Time passed. Years passed. Things happened. Like everyone, I rode a wave of highs and lows, but most of the time it was “steady as she goes.”

As a teen, I went to a site with old farm equipment. I was oddly drawn to the tractors and plows. I wasn’t a farm boy, but I was fascinated with the moving parts and had an urge to oil them, or turn them, or do something pre-programmed into my brain. The equipment seemed familiar to me.

Where is this story going? Nowhere, probably. Just the recollections of an aging guy whose life swung between physical reality and a reality I could not quite touch. A world of energetic connections and knowledge. I never knew enough to make the otherworldly world work for me, but I knew it was there. I could taste it. I could feel it. And if I tried hard enough, I could receive the answers to many of my questions. “Ask and you shall receive.” I did, and I did.

Now as my time is closing, I look back on my life with great appreciation for all I have experienced and great anticipation of all yet to come. I bid life a fond farewell. I’m off on another adventure. I’m off to see the world I have seen in my dreams. Adieu.

"We are dealing with nature and the natural laws of energy. We are responsible for realizing that we are an individual conscious energy in a universe of conscious energies at different levels.
