Laurie Hays answered:
“I was about 13 years old when I could close my eyes and see things. I told my mom and she shushed me and told me that everyone could do that. We were raised Catholic and it was not something which was discussed. However, she must have had her own impressions because my Dad used to call her a witch. She would say, ‘I have to sleep on things.’ She was the witch and I was the little witch. My other sister wasn’t called a witch. My mother wouldn’t talk about this at all. As a matter-of-fact, she told me that reading Tarot Cards and reading horoscopes meant you would burn in Hell. This is how I was raised: ‘Just read the Bible.’
“To this day, members of my family ridicule me for being a psychic. To this day, my sister says I will be the nicest person burning in Hell.”
"I didn’t have a mentor at home. The first mentor I had was when I was 26 or 27 and going through a divorce. Reverend Julie Anne Kreig was an amazing mentor. I went to her for a reading and she said, 'You can do this as well as I can.' I told her that I was afraid of it because I didn’t know the rules and the laws. I knew it was powerful, but I didn’t know how it worked. She offered to teach me. I respected her so much because she was very normal. I would tell her what I saw and she would help me to understand what it meant. I am very visual and I have a very creative imagination. I feel through my imagination. I receive pictures through my imagination. "
Happy Birthday, Laurie!
