I am part of a small group which gathers together to talk about spiritual ideas and experiences, and to channel messages from spirit. When we have these events, we unite souls on both sides of the veil. We learn from each other.

Who shows up at these gatherings?

First, there are the souls in physical bodies – that’s us. We are a small group of 5 to 8 people. Some people channel messages while others listen. I record the messages so I can transcribe them later.

Second, there are those from the non-physical world who show up. They know in advance that we will be meeting and they determine who will attend from their side.

The non-physical group includes our personal Spirit Guides and teachers, as well as illumined masters. Perhaps some angels. Also present are the souls of people we have loved.  

The Guides tell us that every time we gather, we create a unique mix of people and spirit. Those who show up from The Other Side reflect those who show up physically in the room.

The group on The Other Side may know what we need, or want, to hear. They may send a teacher to provide a lesson. Sometimes, a topic has been selected in advance for them to share with us. In that case, the best messenger for that information will come through the person who is channeling.

Other times, Guides will respond to our questions. The most-appropriate souls to answer those questions will step forward. The person who is channeling may tell us that someone new is coming forward with an explanation.  

On occasion, we have been awed to have Archangel Michael and Mother Mary identify themselves as the ones providing messages.

What do the channelers see in the room? They see people in physical bodies surrounded, like in an arena, by those who are not in physical bodies. They can’t quite make out who is in the non-bodied group because those souls are in energy form. They blend together. Channelers have explained that the souls looked like white flames or like a group of pale, white auras. Someone thought they looked like quick cartoon sketches. They are individuals, but can’t really be distinguished from each other.

Another word picture? The souls are like drops of water in an ocean. It’s difficult to separate one drop from another, but you feel the power of the ocean.

Souls from The Other Side multiply the energy when we gather together. Spirit has told us that it doesn’t matter how many people arrive. If only two of us show up, we have still multiplied the energy tremendously.

I’ll wrap this up with two quotes from channeled messages about who is in the room:

1) “Know that your loved ones sit among the learned ones. They are here, surrounding you. They sustain the energy for they know where you will gather. The energy multiplies upon itself so strongly, so clearly, that it is as if you put out a beacon of light from this home, from this place, from this planet.”

2) “Your loved ones surround you. They are among your group of supporters. They are among the group who sustain you. They are always with you, but they know that your energy gathers in a collective mindset open to divine spirit here in these groups. When the energy multiplies, it makes it easier for them to be present.

“There are many more than the ones you have listed, for those who have loved you through your lifetimes, through your beingness, that you hardly remember, that you have touched with your love and light in ways you don't even know, are here, sitting in awe and reverence.”

That’s who shows up when we get together. I believe they are also with us, individually, all the time. We can call upon them. We just are not aware of their presence.

Over the years, we have heard many messages channeled through Intuitives about what happens when our body dies and we pass to The Other Side. These messages have focused on the thousands of people who will greet us and on the love we will feel.

Today, I want to add something I recently heard which I found interesting. Susan Sampson shared this message with us:

“Those that you loved and were not able to stay together with, think of your old loves in your life, will be there. You have kind memories for them. The boy you loved in high school. The man you loved as a young woman and it didn't work out. You will find them all there, if they have passed over. You will rejoice in the love that you had with that person for that short, or long, amount of time.

“There is endless joy.

“You have to allow yourself to accept that love because you come with the mindset that you had while you were in this incarnation. When you pass over, it takes a bit of time, although time doesn't exist, for you to make that transition. It's not hard and it's not difficult. It's just that you didn't know you could do it.

“Any questions you have will be answered. All the things you ever wanted to know in life.”

My reaction was to remember old boyfriends. We can feel that excitement again? That spark of young love? Now, that I’ve heard the message, it makes sense, but those are not the people who I imagined when I thought about loved ones who have passed.  

Susan went on to refine an idea about people who develop dementia on Earth, then pass to The Other Side. She said:

“If people end their incarnation and arrive with mental illness, they are immediately restored to that which they were before they incarnated on Earth. They will look at the life they had on Earth and judge how they dealt with the issues that they were presented with because, usually, those who come to Earth who are mentally impaired, have come not for themselves, but for the people they interact with -- to teach them lessons, to give them openings, to know that being human, no matter what your disability, whether it be emotional or physical, is something you have taken on to learn, or to teach, or to do both.

“Life is woven like this. Like a fine Italian lace. It's all intricately woven together.”

Laurie Hays added to these ideas by channeling a message which was a reminder that at the moment of passing, a beautiful enlightenment takes place.

Then, she channeled a comment about our current development:

“Think of a child who tries so diligently to walk. They toddle and fall. It is not that they are doing anything wrong. They're getting their legs and their muscles and their beingness in balance.

“You are getting your spiritual legs, muscles, and beingness in balance. It is not that anything is wrong, too slow, or too difficult. It is just a matter of being in the energy and being developed physically to a degree that allows the spiritual and the vibrational to enter, to be assimilated, and to be understood, without causing jarring or over-stimulation to the vessels.

“This is the process that you are going through.”

I love listening to these ideas. Some of them make me think. Others are reassuring. We are doing okay. We are making progress at our own pace. Let’s keep moving forward.

It seems to me that for the past few years, psychic/spiritual information has been harder to find than in previous years.

For example, the psychic fairs in Tucson are smaller than they used to be, IONS no longer operates in Tucson, some of the spiritualist churches have gotten markedly smaller, and my channeling group hasn’t been meeting regularly. In addition, I used to be able to watch John Edwards or the Long Island Medium on TV. There were also scripted shows about Mediums. Shows like that are gone. Years ago, Oprah had a big push for Super Soul Sunday. That might still be on TV, but I never hear about it. I used to listen to Super Soul Sunday on Sirius XM Radio, but that wonderful channel disappeared many years ago.

I asked a psychic friend of mine what she thought was going on. Why were things so quiet? She had also noticed this trend, but didn’t have an answer.

So, I had a reading at a psychic fair a few weeks ago and I asked the woman what she thought was happening. She checked in with her Guides and heard that the Earth was splitting. She said that there were two kinds of people on Earth: those who were not interested in spiritual growth and those who were. The people who were not interested had ignored all the spiritualist opportunities. They didn’t need TV shows or psychic fairs.

She added that the people who were interested in the spiritual realm needed to go inside themselves to get new information. They didn’t need psychic fairs or books. They needed meditation and a connection to their Higher Self.

In her words, “There is a shift happening. It's a shift in people's personal consciousness. Some people are choosing to embrace it and dive deeper. Some people are shying away from it. It's personal, like a soul evolving on a spiritual level. It’s about raising consciousness. Some people choose to shy away from it and not do the work. Other people choose to do the work and evolve; but, there is a gap.”

I asked how we create a better world. She answered that, on a personal level, we could go inward. When we create peace in our inner world, it has to produce on the outer. She suggested that we try meditation. Quiet ourselves. Find our own peace. Monitor our thoughts and strive for a high vibration.  

I ran the idea of people no longer needing public, metaphysical information, by a few of my psychic friends. They thought that the idea might be valid for people who were already spiritually connected to their Guides and angels through meditation. However, newly-interested people needed access to psychic readings, spiritualist churches, classes, books, TV shows, etc. The information needed to be easy to find.  

A lot of information is available online, through YouTube, Hay House, and psychics’ sites. I suppose this is good, but I like in-person contact with real people. Maybe this is all a reaction to COVID and convenience – everything moved online. Heck, you’re reading this blog post online!

Have you noticed that spiritual ideas are not as much in the Zeitgeist (group consciousness) as they used to be?

In fact, I used to blog twice each week, then once each week, then I took time off. I was part of the information ebb. I’ll try to do a better job of getting ideas out to those of you who are interested in understanding how life works.
