We work with our soul family to figure out the roles we will take in each lifetime. In one life, a soul family member may be our mother. In the next life, that soul may be our cousin, spouse, child, or coworker.
Soul family members set up situations to further each other’s goals. For instance, if one person wants to explore the role of “caregiver,” other souls would have to take on roles in which they needed care. Before entering this lifetime, the souls would have to decide who would learn the most by being the caregiver and who would learn the most by needing to depend on someone else.
Souls are born into overlapping lifetimes so they can be alive during the same general time period. However, during one soul’s life, other members of the soul family may die and return to The Other Side. Fortunately, even from that side, they can help. They can send energy and, sometimes, they can send people into a person’s life to help with a particular situation.
Originally, I thought that our soul family was a relatively small group, may 12 or 15 individuals. The newer information is that our family is much larger than that.
During a channeled message, I was advised to look at everyone as being in our soul group. The ones that choose to come into a particular incarnation, at a particular time, come together to address a circumstance, an activity, a situation, a discovery, an illness, or an emotion that needs to be explored.
Here on the Earth plane, we have people who we socialize with. We also have groups with whom we celebrate holidays, and different groups with which we do art, or play volleyball, or do psychic fairs. All of those would be like mini-soul groups of the big, giant soul group that decided to come together at this time, for that purpose.
We can recognize somebody from our soul group by the feeling we get.
Pets can also be part our soul family. Whether we need “cuddle bugs,” work partners, or yard protectors, they know what to do. They are part of our elemental, energetic group.
A second channeler added: When you pass into spirit, there are hundreds of thousands of souls which gather to welcome you. All those people are part of your soul group, if they are needed. You have your smaller band, but the souls change more frequently than you would assume.
As you grow in life and overcome challenges, the soul group surrounding you changes. In addition, as your soul evolves over several lifetimes, your soul family will change to reflect your growth and the new things you want to experience. You will graduate from one soul group to another one which matches your evolution of spirit. You aren't stagnant; neither is your group. They, too, are developing. When you have graduated and moved on, you'll draw whatever you resonate with at that time. That will be your new soul support team.
In life, we outgrow people. Our interests and values diverge. There are people who I would prefer never to see again, in this lifetime or any other.
We also change jobs, leaving former friends and co-workers as we move to new phases of life. I’m very pleased that we now have social media so I can keep in touch with people who I no longer see on a daily basis, but I know are part of my soul family.
As with all spiritual ideas, nothing is as simple as it looks the first time we view it. We are always learning and growing. As we evolve, our soul family also evolves. On the small scale of a single lifetime, people come and go. On the larger scale of our evolution as a soul, our soul family changes, as does our large support group.
Let’s keep growing.
