![]() Many psychics use Tarot cards when reading for clients. Tarot decks consist of 78 cards. To begin the reading, the psychic will often have the client shuffle the deck to put their energy into it. Then, the reader will lay out the cards and begin the session. The cards work in tandem with the reader’s psychic ability. The energy coming in psychically activates the cards which then reinforce the energy. One reader explained that he can do readings just using Tarot cards. Or, he can do readings just using psychic ability. However, when he uses both the cards and his abilities, the readings are better. His Guides influence the cards so that they reinforce the messages he receives. Tarot cards provide pictures for everyone to view at the same time. The psychic and the client both see what is happening. In addition, cards provide a barrier between readers and clients, so that the readers can maintain their personal space. The cards also provide a nice distraction from the intensity of the reading. Tarot cards often help the client feel more comfortable. Some clients don’t like to think that a psychic is reading their mind. When Tarot cards are used, it seems as if the information comes from the cards and is just being interpreted by the psychic; not like the psychic is directly accessing the client’s energy or information. Here are a few thoughts from the psychics about Tarot cards: ☼ I like to use Tarot cards. I like the visual images. I like the stories. I am very visual. When I do a Tarot card reading, I do a general reading which includes work, life, relationships, and the house they came from. Then the client and I discuss their priorities, problems and goals; slowly we move towards those goals. (Shirli Millmond) ☼ I like the cards because I have a trust issue. I like having the cards between me and the other person. I am a very emotional person and I cry. I like having the cards in between us so that I can stay out of it. I just say what comes to me. In addition, the cards open up things. I see the cards, get ideas from the cards, and then things open up. I tell people what I see. I also get a feeling about it, an atmosphere. I am picking up the energy surrounding things. I will sometimes get flashes of something which mean nothing to me, but might mean something to someone else. (Marta Taylor) ☼ I typically read cards for people. They are called Shustah Divination and Meditation cards and they are similar to Tarot cards. Shustah Cards have the same philosophy as Tarot cards, but they are a different deck with different pictures and numbers. In order to read the cards, I have the person shuffle the deck so that their energy is in the cards. I work with energy. If they have a specific question, I ask them to focus on that question. If they want a more-general reading, I ask them to focus on their breath and relax so that they don’t get nervous. Once they give the cards back to me, I spread several of them out in a crescent moon shape. Then I read the cards. The cards trigger something in me and they give the client something to look at. I also like having cards to look at. If I did a five-card spread, the client would be the center card, with half of their cards in the past, and half in the future. Then, it triggers a story or an event and I just have to tell the client whatever comes to me. (Gina Stanfill) ☼ I use Mah Jongg cards. I have done Tarot card readings and I have a collection of card decks. Decades ago, I started with the Tarot cards and found that they had many layers of meaning and symbolism. When I started collecting cards, I found the Mah Jongg cards. I changed my focus to the Mah Jongg cards because they provide more-immediate information and that is what most people want. They reflect the here and now without going into a lot of esoteric information. I have also worked with the Akashic Records. (Marta Taylor) ☼ I use Tarot cards for the person I am reading, not for me. People feel more comfortable if there is something they can look at. Or I can just open the calendar, lay it down, and read the calendar. However, when I just sit down and read people, it freaks people out because they don’t have to say anything in order for me to read them. They can bring me somebody’s name on a folded pieced of paper, or a photograph, and I can tell them about the person and about the things that have happened in that person’s life without ever seeing the person, without having the person near me. People don’t have a frame of reference for what I do. That’s why I use the Tarot cards. People think that the cards are saying something, but they have no idea how much extra I am getting. One of the difficult things when I do a reading is telling the difference between “spirit time” and “people time.” There is no time over there and there is time here. In spirit time, “soon” could be anything from tomorrow until three months from now. With the Tarot cards, I can be very precise about time. The cards makes it easier for the person being read. (Cherie Fraine) ☼ I use Tarot cards because the public likes cards. I can also work with stones which people have carried with them or held. I shuffle the cards until Spirit tells me to stop shuffling, then I interpret the cards the way Spirit wants me to interpret them – I just listen. The cards help organize the reading and the thoughts. I can also read shells and use a crystal ball. When I use the crystal ball, I see things in it. I get messages through the crystal ball. I can also do sand readings. I place my hand on the sand to get vibrations and then I sprinkle colored sand on top and do readings. (Jan Class) ☼ Sometimes when I do a reading I use Tarot cards. I can use the cards but, because I am clairvoyant, I don’t need to use them. The cards are a tool, but I don’t know what half the cards mean! Even when I use the cards, I ask Spirit to help me to step aside so they can work through me. I ask my Spirit Guides and angels to talk to the client’s Guides and angels so that I can help them for their highest good for whatever reason they came to see me. I hold their hands for a moment and feel their energy, then I look at the cards and (in my head) I ask Spirit what they want to tell me. I step out of the way, then I hear the message and I tell the client. After that, I move on to the next card. Sometimes it’s about the future and sometimes it’s about the past or the present. Sometimes I will receive a message from a loved one. Often, I receive self-help tools to give to the client. I am activating people and helping them with their life’s purpose. (Denise Singerline) ☼ When I shuffle Tarot cards and lay them out, I am not really using the cards. The cards are an excuse for me to tell people something. People are less prone to be offended when I use the cards and tell them the truth, than when I just tell them what I know. (Erik Assman) ☼ The imagery on the cards can sometimes trigger information and bypass the rational mind. It’s a tool. I rarely use the tools anymore, but they are always here just in case I need them. Once in a while, I use the reference materials. (To-Ree’-Nee’ Wolf) One psychic who had traveled the country noted that people around the country wanted different kinds of readings. San Franciscans wanted “woo-woo” readings. New Yorkers wanted job and career readings. Other places were more practical. You can read more about Tarot cards and other Tools in the book, “My Psychic Search: discovering what psychics do, what psychics know, and how they can help us improve our lives.” Gail [email protected] ![]() Quotes from a Psychic - Tarot Card Readings Maryushka is a Tarot Card reader in Connecticut. When I interviewed her several years ago, she explained why she used Tarot Cards. This is what she told me: “When we do a reading, I get what the client wants by asking them. First we do a soul reading. Almost everybody wants their soul reading. They want to see where they are in the world. They want information about themselves. But it’s not about specific situations; it’s about them in the world. “Then, we can be as specific as they want. They can ask questions about anything, anybody, any person (living or dead), any situation. Most people have a situation which has driven them to come for a reading. Some come with a list of questions. Some come with a troubling situation about their mother. So we look at their mother in several different layouts until we have examined the question, or the situation, in many different ways and we are all clear. “Information comes through the cards. The picture comes and what comes out of my mouth, comes out of my mouth. It comes from the Universal Source which I have requested. I say what I see. I say what I get.” “I see three cards, I never use less than three of anything. They tell a story. They are all triads and they tell a story.” “People have free will. That is why I don’t tell people what to do. I’m telling them what is. We are illuminating their situation. We are illuminating a story. What they do with this is what the person does with it. By helping them see it in many different ways, they come to their own conclusion about how they want to address the issue, think about it, jiggle it around in their gut. Nowhere am I telling them what to do.” I asked, “What happens if you see something negative in the cards? Are you able to tell people bad news? How do you handle that?” Maryushka answered: “Yes, I am able to tell them bad news. I am able to tell them that if they continue to do thus and so, this will be the result. We both see it in the cards and it doesn’t look pretty. What does that tell you? Time to make a change.” You can read more about my interview with Maryushka by clicking here. Contact Maryushka by e-mail: [email protected] . ![]() For the past two weeks, I have been looking through boxes of photos, envelopes of memorabilia, and decades of journals. Reviewing these items is like touring my Akashic Record, but just the small portion which reflects this one lifetime. The Akashic Records are a fuller recording of all we have done through multiple lifetimes. This work is also similar to a Life Review, but I only see my side of things, not how I impacted other people. The magic of the after-life review is that you see the impact, for good or bad, you had on others. Excavating through the boxes, I found a couple of psychic messages from years ago. I consulted with psychics to try to understand people and situations. One psychic told me I would have a pretty easy life; some ups and downs, but mostly clear sailing. I also found a card which I purchased in my early 20s at a fortune telling machine. It said I would travel the world, have a great deal of happiness, unlimited money, and that life would be sunny. Life takes us on a ride with ups and downs. We keep moving forward. It’s like we move along on a conveyor belt, checking out different adventures and experiences. We can try to cut the line and skip to new experiences, but if we skip something, we are stopped in our tracks, waiting for life to catch up. There’s no sidestepping the things we agreed to try in our life contract. What did I find in my notes? Evidence that I had a tough childhood. Some adults tried to ensure that I had no self-confidence. I was not in a supportive environment. I discovered that during the dating years, I wore my heart on my sleeve in a more-dramatic way than I had known. Dating debacles were called “crushes” because we were crushed when they didn’t work out. My heart was broken when the guys I had crushes on weren’t interested in me. Now, I realize that there were guys who had crushes on me who I liked as friends. I wasn’t interested in them romantically, just as the guys who I liked weren’t interested in me romantically. There is something to be said for chemistry. Either it’s there, or it’s not. The college years were full of school work and a longing for romantic love. I think the guy who I liked and who I was very good friends with, was gay. I didn’t know it then, and I don’t know if he knew it then, but it sure would explain things. Those are the circumstances we don’t figure out until the light bulb goes on, years later. After college, I declared my independence and left the east coast. It took a while to get my footing, to finish school, and to establish a career. My career years were intense. Lots to be accomplished. My greatest frustration related to incompetence. I never understood why people couldn’t do their jobs. They could either do the job themself or ask for assistance. I couldn’t understand why they said they would do a project, then not do it. For me, it was about working together and contributing reliable information to the world. I am a big believer in accountability, integrity, and fairness. Turns out, not everyone feels the same way. One upside of work conferences? I found a life partner, we married, and we began a family. Once I was married and had children, life was crazy-busy. My husband and I were both working full-time and had two small children. Life was full of birthday parties, ear infections, squabbling siblings, house guests, and trips to see relatives. It takes a lot of energy to juggle children and work! During that time, many friends and co-workers provided a pressure valve for letting off steam. Oh, those people helped me laugh! (You know who you are.) After the small-kid years, I left my job and began doing volunteer work and artwork. Then I began “My Psychic Search” Project. I had aspirations for success and for making a big contribution to the world. While this hasn’t happened (yet), I can see that those psychic predictions were correct: a mostly-happy life with plenty of challenges, but the where-with-all to keep moving forward and remain on life’s conveyor belt. I wonder how this life fits in with the greater scheme of my multiple lives? What have I learned which will prepare me for my next life (not that I’m going anywhere)? What issues from passed lives were carried into this life to be resolved? Has progress been made? I see that some resolutions could not be achieved. My mother and I never reconciled. With the help of psychics, I came to understand that we were different people with different priorities and we would never be friends. I had to accept that we were oil and water. This was not the kumbaya moment I had sought. Psychics have told me that this situation was set up beforehand so that we could help each other grow. Overall, I can’t complain. As an adult, I have the family I always wanted. We like each other. For our wedding vows, my husband and I had pledged to create the kind of family we always wanted to be a part of. We accomplished that goal. :) Why did I keep journals, calendars, and photos? I wanted to remember life’s details. In retrospect, I think I was writing to organize my thoughts and to tell the truth to someone who wouldn’t judge me – my journal. Maybe I wrote in detail to find a sense of control over life’s “Whys?” Life can be confusing! I want to remember most of it . . . however, a few items are going through the shredder. Life goes on. I’ve got more memorabilia-sorting to do. Then, I can get back to the origin of the project: organizing and labeling photos. What are you up to? Gail [email protected] ![]() This is the link to an article about how some authors hear fictional characters in their minds. The characters have distinct personalities and speech patterns. In some cases, the writers can watch characters take actions which the author cannot imagine. I wrote about this phenomenon a couple of weeks ago. I believe this is an aspect of psychic ability. Many psychics have explained to me how they hear voices and obtain information. They know they are hearing from a source outside of their self. https://amp.theguardian.com/books/2020/apr/27/majority-of-authors-hear-their-characters-speak-finds-study?fbclid=IwAR0DJ3TvG84YfDq4TzyZcBQSIdBG5tpDGl-RSn7UNlqysyaC0QtD4YXvtak ![]() In meditation, I asked, “What is this pandemic about?” It’s about getting your knees knocked out from under you and bringing you back down to Earth. People had become arrogant, judgmental, and wasteful. This is a chance to see what matters -- the simple things. How long will it last? Until it’s over. :) What can we do with this time of self-isolation? For those at home, it’s harder to create new memories, so we can excavate old memories. We can process the old stuff (ideas, resentments, attitudes, etc.) so we have a new plateau for moving forward in life. My project? I am sorting through boxes and boxes of photographs. I am organizing and recollecting. I am clearing out old thoughts and reviewing memories. Clearing mind, body, and soul. If we use this time for self-reflection, we can remove old brain clutter so that our interior mindset catches up to where we are in life. We can re-level ourselves and establish a new plateau. Then, when we resume lives outside our homes, we can create fresh momentum. Right now, we can break old patterns, let go of thoughts we no longer need, and prepare ourselves to create whatever new adventures we seek. And when this is over, if we choose to resume our old routines, we can do them with a new appreciation for schools, summer camps, jobs, bridge clubs, health care workers, and retail employees. We can feel a fresh appreciation for restaurants and for all kinds of entertainment. As individuals in self-isolation, we face our lives. We remember, we examine, and we process. In a few weeks, we will venture out into a more-pristine world. Let’s not crap it up. As a world, we are clearing the skies. There is less pollution. We are clearing the waters. There are fewer cruise ships dropping waste. We are clearing the streets and experiencing fewer traffic accidents. We are also seeing how we are profoundly interconnected. What have our country’s leaders shown us? They have demonstrated that some are clowns and some are strong, pragmatic leaders. The fact that unqualified people, who lack good judgement and compassion, can be elected and appointed reflects what our society has become -- a fractured nation looking for answers in unlikely places. In all matters, we need integrity, responsibility, information, experience, and wisdom. Blame doesn’t get us anywhere; solutions move us forward. Hard decisions are being made. The decision makers need to listen to people who have answers, like health experts, governors on the frontlines, and people who are suffering economically. Then, they need to build consensus. There are clear, competing issues (health vs. the economy). Leaders who rise to the occasion will find ways to get us working together. People will see that, as a group, we can move in the same direction – perhaps in small steps, but together. Leaders who fail to rise to the occasion, will take this country down an ominous path. Send positive thoughts to our country’s leaders, to the people working on the frontlines, to the people who have lost their jobs, to those who are sick, and to those who care for them. Remember, when we uplift any part of our world, we lift it all. Gail [email protected] ![]() Last month, a friend channeled a message regarding the coronavirus. The main idea was that we are all interconnected. When something affects one of us, it eventually affects all of us. She went on to say that the pandemic was helping us develop the awareness that we are all one: “What happens to our brother or sister, happens to us. There is no such thing as ‘us’ and ‘them.’ You cannot harm one part of us, without all of us feeling it in one way or another. It is imperative for this virus to travel so we can see that what affects one avenue, affects all of us. This impact can be seen on many levels. It is true with health, finances, decisions, awareness, fear, and indifference.” We can clearly see how we are intertwined. The coronavirus started in one part of the world and didn’t take long to spread to the entire world. The virus and our response affects our economy and our way of life. These challenges provide an opportunity for awareness and growth. An opportunity to see that we are all connected. We are all one, one vibration, one being. The channeler went on to say that when negative things happen, they affect all of us. This is also true for positive things. When we help others, we help ourselves. “In peace and in harmony, reach out to someone who may have been infected. When you do this with compassion, with love, and with prayer, it raises your vibrational energy, raises their vibrational energy, and raises the vibrational energy in whole, complete, oneness.” When we bring healing energy into ourselves so that we can re-direct that healing energy out to others, we absorb some of the energy. The act of sending love to others, fills our self with love. Everyone benefits. Ask, “How can I protect myself and my family? How can I assist those in need?” We see that when a family member, friend, or neighbor passes, others reach out. The situation affects the person who has passed, along with many other people. Compassion rises and reaches a peak which sustains the whole group. There have always been illnesses. Any time something is new or unheard of, it causes a stir. It is the subject at the water cooler. But know that this too shall pass like so many other things pass. Then something else comes up. Life evolves. The climate changes. The economy changes. It is a part of life. Learn to cope however you can. The channeled message continued, “People survive horrendous things that have never been survived before. When an individual knows that it is their time to leave and move on, they will. When it’s not, they won’t. The circumstances don’t matter as much as: Are they ready or not?” Interesting message, don’t you think? This is a time to take stock of our lives and our thoughts. How much do we value life? How much do we value the economy? How much do we value our ability to move around freely? What is the appropriate balance? Are we willing to make sacrifices? How much do we value facts and science? Integrity? The ability to work together to achieve common goals? How big of a stick needs to hit us before we realize that we have to work together? We can come together to benefit all of us, or we can waste this opportunity by splintering into warring sides? Our choice. Let me know what you think. Gail [email protected] ![]() Quote from a Psychic - Springtime “Come June or July, each of you will be able to look back over this quickly-arriving spring, and see things which have re-birthed in your life. New things, both inside and out. Yes, there will be new things manifested on the physical. There will also be new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new perspectives that will give you a greater understanding of how the love you send forth creates in your life.” ![]() Anne Tyler recently published a novel. I received an e-mail regarding “Redhead by the Side of the Road ” in which Ms. Tyler explained that this book had been different from the other books she had written. She had not developed the story. She had heard the story and retold it. You can read the piece about her process at the end of this blog post. A few weeks ago, I was reading Stephen King’s book, “On Writing,” in which he said he watched characters in his mind, then wrote down what they did. He didn’t make up their stories. He just put on paper the crazy moves his characters made. Then, he waited to see how things moved forward. Several authors have told me that they don’t create their characters. Characters just show up and relay their stories. Of course, after receiving the initial images or stories, the writer has a long way to go. The story has to be written, edited, and re-written. It’s a big effort to shape the story so it has a good pace, fresh dialogue, and sufficient description. It needs to be formed into some semblance of a book that readers might enjoy. But the characters? They are just telling their stories and the note takers are listening. Along the same lines, I read a blog called “Lives of the dead.” The author hears stories from the deceased, writes them down, and molds them into something we can read in awe. This is the link to “Lives of the Dead.” I work with several people who channel messages from unseen Guides. The channelers say aloud the words they hear in their minds. They channel and I record. I am the scribe. One time, this kind of inspiration happened for me. A year or two ago I began writing a story in a dream. After I woke up, the words continued to appear. That was wonderful. "I’d like more, please." So today’s rumination is, “How much creativity comes from us? How much inspiration comes from ‘The Muses’”? A continuum of thought and inspiration exists. If we are lucky, we can tap into an unseen world and pull wisdom and creativity through to this world. Let me know if this kind of inspiration has happened for you. Gail [email protected] This is the note I received through Goodreads: “Red Head by the Side of the Road” by Anne Tyler Dear Reader, I've never really believed in inspiration. For me, plotting a novel feels like hard work, and I have to shove my characters around awhile before they come to life. “Redhead by the Side of the Road,” though, was an exception. I was looking out the window one day, debating whether I had another book in me, when a single sentence all at once popped into my head: "You have to wonder what goes through the mind of a man like _____ _____." (I didn’t have an actual name yet.) This was interesting, but not very helpful. Why would you have to wonder? Then here came another sentence: "He lives alone; he keeps to himself; his routine is etched in stone.” By now, I knew enough to wait. I didn't have to wait long. "At seven fifteen every morning. . .” And I was off and running. Oh, the book didn't write itself. There were still a good many missteps and hesitations. But throughout the process, I had the sense that some neutral, anonymous voice was telling me a story. I came to trust it. Maybe this was a gift of age: I’ve learned to just let things happen. Or maybe—who knows?—it was a random one-time event, and my next book will be a full-on struggle. In any case, I had a wonderful time writing this story down, and I hope you'll enjoy reading it.
