Ruth Red Eagle, at Rare Heart Healing Art, has been set up at the Mystic Messengers Psychic Fair for quite a while. In February, I sat down with her and asked about her work.
Ruth told me, “I have been an intuitive healer since I was a little girl. I could feel people’s pain and I could experience what was going on with them. I saw into other realms. Because I had a very abusive childhood, Spirit had taken me out of my body and I had learned to be comfortable on The Other Side. I have been between the realms, between this side and the other side, numerous times throughout my life. I have no fear of death. I know everybody over there!
“In 1987, I began my career as a massage therapist. I became a certified massage therapist in CA. I loved doing body work. That was always fun. I worked for chiropractors and I learned a lot. My mother was a nurse so I have a medical background. I was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a while and a home health aide.
“I have a very practical White Man’s traditional awareness and I also have the spiritual side. I became a Reflexologist around 1991 and I became a Reiki Master in 1995.
“At the fair, I do Reiki and cranial sacral therapy. Cranial sacral therapy has its roots in osteopathy and works with the cerebral spinal fluid. It uses a very light touch which has a deep, lasting effect. We connect to the person’s own natural healing. We talk about the wisdom of the body and how the body knows what it needs.
“Along with that, I get information from peoples’ bodies and I will give people whatever support their body is asking for. Sometimes, the body asks for a particular supplement. Sometimes, Spirit Guides come in. I tell people when I’ve got angels or Guides.
“I also do chakra balancing to clear stuff out. It helps facilitate grounding and moves energy through the body.
“I also help people raise their vibration.
“With the hands-on healing, I tailor each session to the person on the table. Everyone is unique and they each have a different vibration. I listen to the body. I bypass the consciousness, go straight to the body, and ask what I need to know.
“I also have a background in kinesiology. Through muscle testing, I can show people how their body is responding.
“When I do this work, people feel a shift in their awareness. A lot of times, people will come with physical pain and when they get off my table, they say, ‘I had a headache (or hip pain), and it’s gone.’ That is part of the blessing of energy work.
“In 2011, I came to AZ to take care of my mother who had kidney disease. I took care of her for the last five or six years of her life. I was there when she crossed over and I helped usher her to The Other Side, which is really powerful. I have also helped other people cross over.”
I asked, “What is that like for you? Do you see something?”
Ruth answered, “I feel it. I am very psychically visual so I get pictures in my head. Sometimes I will see the person’s spirit close to me as they are about to transition. I see loved ones who come around. That is one of the biggies. When you see elders, and people who don’t normally come to visit, you think, ‘Uh oh. Something’s going on. What do I need to be aware of?’
“I had a friend who was in the process of passing over and she was really frightened. I took care of her during the last six or eight weeks of her life. She stayed with me at my home. When it was time for her to pass, we had family, friends, and clergy gather around.
“She had been very frightened for a few days beforehand so we had done a guided meditation where I had helped her bring in the gold light and the purples – those loving, gentle energies.
“At that point, I told her what I saw: little cherubs doing handstands and back flips, and jumping up and down with excitement. I saw this line at the horizon; all these figures. People were waiting for her on The Other Side. A light came from behind them and through them. They radiated love. I held her and described who I saw. She knew who they were. ‘That’s my dad!’ ‘That’s my aunt!’”
Ruth said that the woman was able to pass with peace.
I exclaimed, “What a miracle! What an amazing gift you gave her. You saw the people waiting for her. You described them so she knew who was waiting; so she knew that there was something on The Other Side. She didn’t need to be frightened. Whatever your belief system, at the very end you think, ‘I hope I’m right.’ Unless you are someone who travels both sides, you want to believe it’s true, but there’s always going to be that slight doubt.”
Ruth noted, “When my mother passed over, it was totally different. A couple of days before, she stopped taking her medication. She had a low blood sugar and she crossed over. She came back with the biggest smile on her face. She said, ‘Oh my G-d, Ruth, you have no idea. It is so beautiful!’ ‘Yeah, mom, I know.’ She said, ‘You don’t understand! How can you come back here when you know all the love and devotion and beauty and light? The love is so powerful. The peace is so powerful.’ She added, ‘How can I come back to all these regular human beings after I’ve been over there?’ Then she asked me, ‘Is it okay if I go home?’ I said, ‘Of course you can go home, Mom.’ Of course you can go home.
“My mother’s deceased sister had been in my face all that day. She was right there, waiting to collect her.
“I’ve always had a connection to that time for people. When I went into CNA work, I wanted to work for hospice, but they had just hired hospice people so I wasn’t able to get into that. Instead, I went to the oncology unit at the hospital. That was awesome. I worked with people who were ready to pass. It is such a phenomenal thing.
“One time, I met a woman in the hospital, then she left. A couple of weeks later, she returned. She was really sick. I was the only person who could take care of her. I was the only one who could feed her. I would sit there and read the Bible for her. I was a CNA. I could do stuff like that. She got to the point where she was very grateful to have me there. We had this amazing connection that supported her. We talked about dying. We talked about going home. She was at peace before she passed.
“I was grateful to be a part of that and to give her that sense of solace and peace. That support and love so she could know, ‘Yes, the hands of G-d are around you at every moment. I promise you that not only will G-d be there, but the angels are going to be there to light your way and support you.’
“It’s something that has been very close to me. I probably did this in past lives. I helped surf the transition.
“I also work on a larger scale. I do things like Reiki on the planet.
“One day, I was sitting at a car dealership, reading. I thought, ‘I should do Reiki on everyone here.’ I started doing Reiki on everyone in the building, sending love and blessings. All of the sudden, Spirit pulled me out of where I was, and I was out in the middle of the Universe. I was holding the Earth like a ball. I felt like the Goddess Gaia. I was holding her and I could feel the pain of the Earth. It was so intense. I felt it through my whole heart. My whole chest.
“I started doing Reiki. I was watching the Earth slowly spinning in my hands. I was watching this pink Reiki light coming down from my hands. I could see huge bunches of animals moving and looking up. I could see the light coming from my hands, going through the clouds, going down to the Earth, going to the animals, going to the water. It was extraordinary. Ever since then, I’ve been repeating that.
“Spirit brought me into that, then I started doing it on my own. Obviously, Earth needs the support and the help. There are times when I go instantly back to the Earth. Even the Earth is calling me, asking for healing. It’s powerful.
“I have taught other people to do this too. Take five minutes and do Reiki to the planet. Try it. See what happens.
“Everything in this universe loves Reiki because it is a natural, universal, healing energy. It is so powerful. I’ve been blessed to be able to connect to the Earth and animals and stones and plants and people. I consider myself a healer. That is my number one position.”
I asked Ruth if she also provided psychic readings. She told me that she had been advised to do readings, but was just getting into this.
She added, “As I work with individuals, I am an empath and I can feel what is going on. I can hear and see. A lot of times, I see spirits in this dimension. Sometimes, I sense them being around.
“I am also a teacher at a massage school in town. I love teaching. It’s so much fun. It’s such a kick. I can feel and understand concepts in different ways. If someone doesn’t understand what we are teaching, I can find out how best to share that information with them. I have had that gift my entire life.”
I commented, “You’ve been doing this your whole life. Do you remember, before you came in, if this was your assignment? A choice?”
Ruth replied, “Yes. This was a choice. I knew before I came down that I had a choice whether or not I wanted to incarnate in this life. I chose to come down to be of service. I know that without a doubt.”
“In my mid-to-late twenties, a beautiful Indian man came to me in my dream time. He said, ‘I’m your grandfather and I’m very proud of you. Stay on the path of a healer.’ I saw him very clearly. He told me his name. That week, I was watching PBS and there was a program on Native Americans. There was a picture of this man who had come to me in my dream -- Red Cloud. That is how I found out about my Native American history -- my great grandfather visiting me and telling me that he was proud of me.
“This event put me on the Native American path. Because I found out where I was from, I was able to heal ancestral lines which had been broken. My grandmother was the first half-breed in our family and had been treated horribly. We never knew we were Native American until Spirit told me.”
I commented, “What strikes me with you, and so many other people I have spoken with, is that you have a specialty, but you get whatever the client needs. You have what you normally do, but if someone needs to hear a message, it comes to you.”
Ruth responded, “It’s very personal. Intimate and amazing.”
