What Happens when we Sleep?

At a recent channeling event, someone asked, “What happens when we sleep? Our physical body is recharged. What about our spirit? What does our spirit do at night?”

Spirit answered:

The body houses the spirit to the best of its ability. When the body slumbers, the spirit is free to be in all its essence.

If the spirit is suppressed during the day, when it has time to breathe, it practically screams “Aaaaa!” It has to let the energy out.

Some people have so much energy to share that they speak, talk, and eat in their sleep. Even as they relax, they keep going and their spirit carries on that energy.

Other people live life in peace. They meditate. They center and ground. At night, their spirit soars. What they do in their daylight hours is magnified in their evening spiritual release. If, during the day, they are concerned with prayers, healing, and helping, when the soul releases in the evening, uncontained, it continues in that mission.

However, if their mission on this life plane is to observe and keep quiet, when their spirit frees itself in the evening, it remains reserved, observing, and attentive to the things that this physical element has drawn it to.

Does the spirit connect with higher levels? Are there reunions of energy so that the spirit can strengthen and guide the physical vessel? Absolutely. It is a tandem dance with what the spirit is doing while in the physical vessel.

Some who work diligently on the physical plane to release hardships and difficulties will find that in the spiritual realm, in the evening, there is assistance with the release. Perhaps, there is a review of events so the person is no longer affected, or a replaying of things in order for there to be a release. Spirit works in tandem with what the vessel is dealing with.

Children connect easily with loved ones on the other side. They may say, “I saw mommy or daddy.” They know mommy and daddy love them. When they sleep, they connect with the other side because there is nothing holding that spiritual energy in the physical body.

I always say, “I don’t want dead Uncle Fred guiding me.” Dead aunts and uncles are great, but if they haven’t cleaned themselves up after crossing over, they are going to give you what they think you need to hear. If you’ve had a bad day, they’ll say, “Let’s have a drink.” On the other hand, an angel might suggest you look at the day, see what you learned from it, and think about what you might do differently the next time.

You get totally different guidance from dead relatives than you might get from angels or Master Spirit Guides. I talk with all of them. Some grandmas can be very opinionated. I’ll relay the messages, but sometimes the Guides have to pull these people back because they are so opinionated and what they are bringing forth is not useful to the client.

My family members have had vibrant discussions as to whether or not to have children at this time, when the Earth is in peril. Younger women are looking at pollution, climate change, and politics, and wondering if it’s prudent to have children when the next generation might experience terrible lives in catastrophic times.

Would you have children under these circumstances?

In April and May, at two separate channeling events with two different channels, I asked Spirit about the future of the Earth and whether or not people should have children. The answers were similar and are intertwined. I’m not sure I agree with all of this, but here are the messages:

Spirit remarked: “If people did not have children, how would we have survived the last four and a half billion years on this planet? Earth was designed for many manifestations of human beings. It has lots of work yet to do.”

“It is eminently okay to have children.”

The messages went on:

You are stewards of the Earth and must take that responsibility seriously. You won’t want to see the results if nothing changes.

You should be concerned about the increasing aridness of the Earth. This will cause the migration of peoples all over the Earth, including people in this country. Inventions will allow people to live in arid regions, but the transition from today’s technology to tomorrow’s technology will cause people to experience very unpleasant forced migrations in order to survive.

The mountains in AZ will remain cool and will become islands of people living above the greater heat. However, this situation will cause some dissatisfaction among people as they fight for resources.

Remember, climate change is not only brought on by human beings. It is also brought on by the evolutionary voyage of the solar system around the galaxy. Many things repeat in this cycle. However, this cycle is exacerbated by human beings being unkind to the Earth.

Do your own tiny part and speak your own truth.

In the future, there will be a more benevolent relationship between human beings and the Earth. The generation which sought to make “progress” humanity’s goal, is moving into spirit and with them goes that catastrophic pillaging of the Earth. Those who come after have been enlightened by watching the Earth change and they won’t allow that to happen any longer. The Earth will become a more benign place to live, not only regarding plants, animals, and climate, but in the relationship human beings have with one another.

Planetary evolution has occurred since the beginning of time. Changes came gradually, slowly, but continuously. Now, changes are massive because of the tremendous amount of history on Mother Earth. But, you see, everything eventually breaks down. While you may be able to find remnants from past generations and past civilizations, eventually they break down and become a part of Mother Earth.

Nothing is separate from Mother Earth. Everything came from Mother Earth. While something may be in a completely different form because of the way it was manipulated by humanity, it remains what it is, and what it was. “From dust it came and to dust it shall return.” Think about the machinery from the Iron Age. Where did it go? It’s somewhere in Mother Earth.

Mother Nature has experienced huge shifts through the ages. Places which used to be mountains are now under the sea. Beautiful, tremendous mountains and their greenery are underwater and have formed a whole different life cycle. No less life, but very different from what they were created and intended to be, and yet created with the intention that eventually they would be underwater. At the other end of the spectrum, areas which were underwater have risen.

Earth will continue to self-monitor and adjust as needed, just as human bodies have adjusted. The body no longer eats the things it ate 2000 years ago. Food was processed differently so long ago. Yet the body has adjusted to absorb what is being presented. Was that the original design? The original design was to be able to adjust in the needs that it would have. Mother Earth was designed to adjust in the needs that she would be meeting, not only in this century, but in many, many millennia to come.

So, yes, it’s okay to have children. They will survive and evolve, just like Mother Earth.

"How do you manifest? You manifest by saying, “I am going to get the job that I want.” “I am going to have the birthday party that I’ve always envisioned.” “I am going to take the trip and it is going to be as joyous as I can possibly make it.” That is all you have to do. You have to speak it to the universe. You can think it. That will work. But if you speak it to the universe, you are sending out a vibration and you are sending out an image. You are sending out that which you want to bring to you and there is no way it will not arrive.

"I am going to say that again. There is no way it will not arrive."

"Have a goal. Envision it. Say it out loud. Then, know that it will arrive. KNOW that it will arrive."

Everything we do is individualized. We make choices. A basic framework exists for life, death, and the afterlife. Within that framework, we create our own experience.

The afterlife. Getting there.

At the moment of death, the soul rises from the body and is guided by someone (or some energy) we trust, so that we are not afraid. Then, we create whatever we think the afterlife is.

We experience what we think will happen. If we think we are going to meet G-d, G-d will be there. If we think we are going to party with our friends, they will greet us. If we think we are going to Hell, we will have a darker experience. If we don’t think anything happens after death, nothing will happen. The idea is that we are not to be frightened by dying. Getting what we expect, makes the transition easier than being surprised by events we did not expect.

For those who were enlightened in life, crossing to the other side can be quite easy. They slip over, reunite with friends and relatives, and move on to do whatever it is they wish to do.

For those who were not so enlightened, crossing can be uneasy. Still, they can be greeted by friends, relax, adjust, have a life review, and move forward to work with their Guides.

For those who had traumatic deaths, like plane crashes or prolonged illnesses, there may be a period of healing and adjustment.

For those who don’t think anything will happen, nothing happens. They may be in a state we would liken to “suspended animation.” They can relax. They can heal. They can get over the surprise that they are not “dead.” If they choose to, they can glimpse their former life. Or they can wait. What are they waiting for? Only they know. How long will they wait? Could be a short time, could be forever. Their choice.

Entities may come and ask if they need help moving forward and the soul can say, “yes” or “no.” Some souls will accept assistance and move forward towards the kind of afterlife we call “heaven.” Others will rebuff the offers of assistance for any number of reasons. Maybe they don’t think the offers are real. Maybe they don’t trust the energy which is approaching them. Maybe they are waiting for something to happen. What are they waiting for? Who knows.

If someone who has crossed wants to stay in this state of non-reflection, they can choose to do so. They can blame other people for things which happened in their life. They can be pissy. Or they can be calm and take time to rest. There is no hurry. No need to move forward. They have forever. They can stay in that state of cocooning for as long as they desire.

At some point, they may become curious about other options and look outside of themself. They may decide to accept assistance from an angel or another soul who can help them “open their eyes” and see more of what is available on the other side.

Eventually, souls move forward. They begin to see that there are opportunities for growth on the other side. They can meet other souls, play card games, take classes, or research areas of interest. If they so choose, they can plan a future life, then reincarnate on earth or somewhere else in the universe. Many choices.

People who have led lives of introspection on earth, often breeze through their life review on the other side. People who have not thought about their life on earth, may take longer to review their experiences, lessons, and interactions with others. A soul who doesn’t want to review their life because they know they will see things they don’t want to see, or who doesn’t want to take responsibility for things they did in life, doesn’t have to have a life review. They can remain oblivious. It’s all individual choice and creation (are you seeing a pattern here?).

Even a soul who is not interested in introspection can decide to reincarnate. However, if they are still working on lessons and experiences which they didn’t complete in a previous life, they may set up scenarios where they work through those challenges again. They will continue to experiences similar adversities from life to life, until they figure out whatever they came to earth to figure out.

It’s all individual. We have many more choices than we know.

Everyone throughout the universe is trying to organize and improve their space, small or large. The energy of “improving” is going on everywhere and it’s a good thing. Cumulatively, we are fostering an energy of betterment. Cumulatively, we are making the world a better place.

If it doesn’t look like an improvement to us, maybe it’s because another person’s idea isn’t something which appeals to us. For example, someone may be adding black licorice to their menu, and we don’t care for black licorice. We don’t think it’s an improvement, but it still feeds the good, expansive, feeling of the person choosing the black licorice.

You can see this drive to create well in home improvement projects, in well-loved gardens, in theatrical groups which develop new performances, in schools with greenhouses, and in whole countries which strive to clean their environment.

The concept also applies to self-improvement: being kinder to our self and others, deferring judgement, appreciating beauty.

Keep creating in your part of the universe. It all adds up.

Overriding Destiny

Last week, I wrote about Life Purpose and Destiny. Our life purpose propels us forward along our path so we achieve our goals. We take strides towards our destiny. Our destiny is reflected in the things we achieve. Where did these goals come from? They came from the life plan we set up before we were born.

So the question is, “If we have a life purpose and a destiny, but we decide we don’t like the way things are going, can we override our fate?”

In addition to the broad outline of the life we planned while on the other side, we also have free will. We have choices. Many times, we use our free will to fill in the details of our destiny. For example, our destiny may be to experience marriage. Free will allows us to select our mate.

Other times, we use our free will to override our destiny. We make new choices.

If we pre-determine that this life will be about exploring illness, or loss, or lack of finances, and we get fed up with these issues, we can change the script. We can turn our life around. Maybe we can recover from the illness or find a better job. When this happens, we might wonder, “Did I use my free will to override my fate, or was my fate to learn how to overcome these issues?” Good question. How do we know? We don’t know. While alive, it is difficult to determine what is happening. The only way to answer this question is to talk to our Higher Self, perhaps on our own, or perhaps by talking with a psychic who has these kinds of connections.  

According to a message channeled by Susan Sampson, free will can overtake fate. We have to go back to the original paradigm of the soul. The soul lives forever. If we choose not to follow our fate in this lifetime, not to do whatever desire we had within us, it is okay. We will have the chance to address this issue over and over until we have the courage, or the interest, or the curiosity, to explore it.  

Susan went on to say: “Let me make this clear. Number 1, you don’t know your fate. Number 2, you have free will. Is your free will your fate? Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn’t. Is [your choice] wrong? No. Is it right? For this life, it is right.

“It doesn’t make a difference if you fulfill everything or if you take a slightly different route and you continue this issue into another life . . . Everyone is worried about getting everything right. There is no “right.” Everything is right -- even if you step diametrically opposed to the fate you designed. Perhaps your Higher Self looked down and said, ‘Let’s give them an inclination to do something else.’ The machinations of spirit and the options of the soul are so vast that you can’t grasp them now and you can’t understand them now, but there is no judgement on if you are moving on the path you designed or if you have chosen to take a step off. It is all correct.”

Everything we need to experience in this life, will be experienced in this life. Some issues will be postponed to future lifetimes. Take a breath. Do your best. Don’t get discouraged. Live this lifetime to the best of your ability and explore the joy.
