I promised to write about Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) today, but I’m having a few reservations. The last two people who told me about their NDEs, explained that they had been curious about Hell and had asked to be shown what it was. Somehow, in this Season of Light, it doesn’t feel right to share stories of Hell. So, I’m going to focus on a different aspect of one of these stories. Maybe next month, we’ll talk about the scary stuff.
Today, I want to share a question I’ve heard a few times. During an NDE, some people meet an entity who they believe is G-d. In itself, this is pretty amazing. Other people meet with a Council or with Spirit Guides. Sometimes, they are asked, “Did you help others during your stay on Earth? Tell me how you assisted others.” If the answers are sufficient, the conversation continues to other questions. If the answers don’t measure up, and there is room for improvement, the person is returned to life on Earth to do a better job of helping others.
Recently, Barb Wilcox told me about one of her NDEs. She recalled being asked something like, “What have you done to help people?” She answered and G-d said, “That’s good.” The second question was something like, “What have you learned?” G-d listened to her answer and replied, “That’s good, but you need to learn more.” He added, “You need to go back.” Barb didn’t want to return, so she began asking questions of G-d. There is much more to Barb’s NDE story, but I’ll save that for another time.
Years ago, Dave Bodell told me about one of his NDEs. In his twenties, a wise Indian on Earth had advised him to, “Unlock the secrets and teach others.” Twenty years later, Dave had an NDE. The old Indian was standing there. He said, “You have not unlocked the secrets, and you have not taught others. Do so.” After returning to Earth, Dave began working with stones to explore, and share, their metaphysical properties.
Rhonda Harford-Gibony also had an NDE. Her experience came with a choice and a suggestion. After a car accident, she walked through the Light. At the end of the experience, she was told that it was not her time to go and that she had to make a choice. She could either stay or go back. However, she was told that she had not yet done her greatest work. If she wanted to do that work, she had to return to Earth. She woke up in the hospital.
So, I guess my question for today is, “Have you helped others?” When you travel to The Other Side and are asked this question, what will you answer? If you have a life review, will you be pleased with your efforts?
There is so much good in this world. It’s easy to overlook the good and focus on the imperfect. Did you see the story of the guy who drove to Kentucky with his food smoker in tow so he could feed people after last week’s tornadoes? Did you see the videos of people untangling animals from fishing lines? Are you aware that Cody’s Friends, in Tucson, collects and distributes pet food and blankets? Did you know that we have a horse rescue group? Some volunteers assemble “Shoebox Angels” to ensure that all children have Christmas gifts. There are so many ways to help!
In the world of psychic ability, many people do this work so that they can be a force for good in the world. I have spoken with intuitives who bring grace to this realm. They channel, and hold, the Light.
In our own way, each of us has gifts to contribute. Being asked, “How did you help others?” need not be our prime motivation, but wouldn’t it be nice to know that when we are asked that question, we have a good answer?
