Practical advice: Sit in meditation, breathe in the white light of universal love, expand your consciousness, talk to your angels and Guides, connect with your heart’s desire, then voice it. Focus on your wish and bring it to fruition. Look for evidence of your manifestation. When you find that evidence, express your gratitude. Gratitude signals the universe that you want more of what you just received.

In every lifetime, we choose our roles so we can have the experiences we seek. I heard this story a few years ago and it stuck with me:

    A man who was seeking wisdom walked into a monastery and said, “Send me to the wisest man you know.” They sent him down the street to an intersection to meet a guy with a bottle. The man went there, looked at the guy, didn’t ask his question, returned to the monastery, and said, “That was just some old drunk.”
    
    They replied, “That drunk is the most enlightened person in this community. The only thing he was missing was his experience of addiction. He wanted to experience addiction in this lifetime. If you want your question answered, ask him.”
    
    We come into a lifetime for many reasons. We come to experience, we come to spread love, and we come to spread joy. However, at some point, if someone really wanted to be compassionate with all of the addictions of mankind, he might think he needed to experience some of the addictions to be able to bring himself to a more-compassionate level. That decision would be made on a Higher Self level, probably before an incarnation. It could always be changed. He could experience addiction for a year, ten years, or a lifetime. Those are choices the person would have.
    
    I believe each one of us has, at some point, come down to experience something that the people in this room would judge as a “bad” thing. They judge it as bad based on the difficulty of the life, for example not making money, not having a family, not seeming very happy; all of those reasons. It may not be the kind of life we would want to live, but I would be hesitant to judge the energy that the person was experiencing because if divine order is perfect in all things and the universe unfolds as it should, then that is exactly what that person should be experiencing.

When I think about life, I see the various roles people have taken on. Some roles are pleasant. Other roles provide a foil so that we see how we react to those people and the situations they create. We are enmeshed in our daily lives. Sometimes, it’s interesting to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

Right now, America is feeling “uncertainty.” We are dealing with politics, viruses, and upcoming holidays. Some of us are happy, then sad, then wondering what to do. In addition to our private worlds, we are part of the national collective consciousness – the group’s feelings and thoughts about what is happening. Several years ago, I was privy to a conversation about how to think about the collective consciousness. Interested? Read on.

An Intuitive said:

“I was watching the news. I always send blessings out when I watch the news. They did a poll about what people thought about how the country was going. Whatever your politics are, if you look at it from a metaphysical point of view, you’re looking at a country where more than 50% think things are getting worse. When that happens, the universe has no choice but to make things worse. That is the cultural belief, the collective consciousness.

“People can think whatever they want, but to me, life is great. Everything is wonderful. We, as aware people, have to be in tune with our own sense of wonderfulness about life. Otherwise, the other fools are going to drag us down because they think the world sucks. If that is what they think, that is what is going to manifest.

“If we are not aware, we tend to be sucked into that collective consciousness. All of us who know how the world works need to keep our light shining, keep focusing on the good in life, and keep focusing on the good in the lives around us. This is necessary to keep the light and to raise the vibration which seems to be dipping.”


The year 2020 has been a challenge. Let’s focus on the good things in our lives. Thanksgiving is on the way, reminding us to express our gratitude.

Here’s a toast to health, happiness, and the small things in life which bring us pleasure.

Mystic Mark Janssen shared this post on his blog. I thought you might find his perspective as fascinating as I find it. Here's Mark:

In your life there may be one Halloween per year.  It has never been like that for me.  Not since I learned what Halloween means to most people.

The night before All Hallows Day (All Saints Day) is when spooky creatures, ghosts and goblins are supposed to come out to roam the earth.  In our world—the world I share with others who are mystics and mediums--spirits are present every day and night.

In January 2008 I was asked to tour the Old Charleston Jail.  It was built in Charleston, SC, in 1802.  There were spirits—ghosts, if you prefer—all around the grounds and inside the jail when I made my first visit.  Most had been ordinary men, women and children.  A few were extraordinarily evil.  Which means yes, believe some of those horrible stories you have read about the pirates, highwaymen and others imprisoned there.

One part of the jail was known as the area where Union soldiers were held during the Civil War.  What I saw were soldiers in blue uniforms with guns and bayonets patrolling the halls.  The tour guide said that before me no one had ever seen Union soldiers’ ghosts reenacting the time they held Confederate soldiers prisoner after the war.

Many people would consider it a bit of Halloween come early.

That is my normal.

It’s always been my normal.

It makes no sense to me when anyone tells me they cannot see or speak with their guardian angel.  It’s the most natural thing in my world.  Each time I sit down to write there are a roomful of angels around me.  My guardian Michael is behind me reading as I type.  He might tell me how to phrase something.  The angels will suggest topics that make sense to readers.  They remind me you do not comprehend this in the same way as me.

They remind me that I am not writing for my family and friends.  They’re used to me.  I am supposed to write for people who have no clue that they have the same spiritual experiences we have.  You may not remember what has happened in your sleep.  You may not realize who is whispering into your ear.  We have lifetimes of experience in conversing with our angels and talking with spirits.  We are aware of who is talking to us when there are no humans present.

It’s said that seeing and speaking with God is done by only a few in each generation.  I cannot imagine Halloween or any other day of the year without God.

What is normal to ninety-five plus percent of the world’s population is simply incredible to me.

Just as my reality, my normal life, is unbelievable to so many people.  And you know what?  That is just fine.

The other day I was digging through some old photographs.  I came upon one which I forgot I had.  It was taken in the private parlor of a monastery.  Beside me sat one of the most beautiful women I have ever met.  She was one of those incredible people whose souls shine out regardless of where they are or what they do.  Sister wore her medieval widow’s garb and a smile brighter than ten thousand suns.  She also wore one of my old straw hats.

She was very old and ill by this time.

Within a few months I was attending her funeral.  There I witnessed something which could not have taken place in the physical world.

I saw another nun, a dear friend, in the chapel with the rest of the nuns.  She told me later that was impossible.  She had already left.

How are such things explained?

More easily than you might guess.  A part of her soul’s reflection remained behind while she had left.

There is more to life than what we see in movies and on television.

When you are ready, you will have your Halloween every day, too.  Maybe not the candy, but definitely the joys.

Start by sitting quietly and asking your guardian angel its name.  Ask every day.  Several times a day.  Ask until you hear an answer.

Give yourself the gift of making normal what you were told is not real.

Halloween is nearly here. Here are three more “True Ghost Stories”:

1) I interviewed a woman who grew up in Okinawa, Japan, where communication with the spirit world was an everyday occurrence. This is part of her story:

“As a child, I saw ghosts. I knew how people died. I used to deliver newspapers and I could smell that a person had been in the hospital. I could smell the scent of the hospital. I could tell if someone was dying.

“I was 16 years old when my neighbor was killed in a car accident. When he was crossing, his deceased father’s spirit came and picked him up. He came in a wagon. These are all spiritual things. I heard the horse coming at three in the morning. Through my window, I saw the deceased father come for his son. I was scared to death. He parked the wagon and the horse, then sat there and waited. I heard the sliding glass door open, then the spirit of the neighbor who had died got up and left his body, got on the wagon and they took off. I could hear the bells ringing on the wagon as it went between the houses.”

2) Another Medium, Marianne Patyk, shared:
 
“Back in 1969, my grandfather came to me after he had passed away. That was my first experience with the other side. I was about 8 years old when he came and sat on the corner of my bed. I still remember it. I had a conversation with him.

“He was my Grandfather – I wasn’t frightened. This was about three days after he had passed away. He came and sat on the corner of my bed and I felt him sit down. I opened my eyes and it was my grandfather. In fact, all of my relatives have come to visit me after they have passed. It’s like having a normal conversation with them.”

3) One of my favorite stories is from Denise Singerline Foster:

“When my ex-husband’s brother Vinnie died, I woke up at about 5:30 a.m. and felt him standing next to my bed. He had died in a trailer fire that night, but I hadn’t yet heard about it. I felt someone standing next to me all night. The phone rang around 7 a.m. and they told me that Vinnie had died. His ghost stayed in our house for about two weeks and I would see him standing around and walking down the hallway. At night, he would stand next to my bed and want me to astral travel with him. He talked to me. I started praying that he would go into the Light and after about two weeks, that is what he did.

“Seeing ghosts can be scary because it is so unexpected. A lot of times there wasn’t anything to be afraid of, it was just surprising to wake up and find ghosts looking at me. There was one scary-looking ghost who I was afraid was going to touch me. I don’t know what would have happened if he had actually touched me. I prayed and made him leave.”
