At a recent channeling event, Spirit shared insights on the afterlife. Here are a couple of questions from the audience, along with answers:

First person: When someone commits suicide, or ends up dead, surprised, like in an auto accident, they get help. What kind of help is given? What does it consist of?

Spirit: Help comes from both sides. It can take a soul a while to open themselves to the reality of their passing. Sometimes, they have to accept their own passing before they can truly, truly, accept help. The love that you send is part of the process of breaking down their resistance to accepting their passing.

Love can break down those walls. It comes from us and it comes from those on The Other Side, if we remember to send it.

Second person: Do those on The Other Side feel the same kind of love that they felt here on Earth? Is it different? Do they have different feelings? Do they have feelings?

Spirit: Everybody experiences their own death differently. I can’t say there is one way that it happens although, eventually, at some point in time, what I speak of will come true for everybody.

On The Other Side, they literally live in love. They are surrounded by love. They breathe it, although they don’t breathe in the way that we do on a physical level. They literally live in the surrounding love of the Divine. Some of us have glimpses on this side of what it is like to live in love. Some of us have evolved ourselves to the point where we can truly love ourselves; where we can truly love those around us. Most of us would not describe how we live on this Earth as living in love. Many, many, many on The Other Side, truly live in love.

Those on The Other Side who desire to do so, can evolve to the point where they can accept the absolutely infinite amount of love of the Divine on The Other Side. When I speak of the love of the Divine on The Other Side, I do not speak just of a love coming from outside of each individual’s soul. I talk about the love that is in, and expands from, the love of each individual soul and in that process, the division between us gets less and less and less, until there is only love.

Third person: It sounds so wonderful. Why would we leave and come to Earth?

Spirit: Many reasons. We come to Earth to learn. We come to Earth to teach. We come to Earth to play. There are sensory things on Earth that I don’t want to say aren’t available on The Other Side, but can be experienced on the lower level of vibration that we have here on Earth. We can taste chocolate. We can have sex. We can run. We can breathe the air. We can give love and understanding, and help people grow.

In addition, some people come to Earth to be of service to others in their own evolution.

Back in high school, a history teacher overheard me saying that I loved something inanimate. A book? A teddy bear? A photo? I don’t remember what it was. This man told me that love was only for living things. He said it wasn’t possible to love an inanimate object.

I think he’s incorrect. I thought so then, and I still think so now.

Love comes from us. It wells up in us. It encompasses an appreciation for the object of our affection. We can love a painting, a musical interlude, and everything else.

We can also love people, animals, and plants – all living things. Sometimes the feeling is reciprocal. Sometimes it is part of our admiration for the beauty of an item.

Limiting the definition of “love,” limits our total joy in all the world has to offer.

Expanding our understanding of “love” can light up our world.

I had a dream the other night about The Great Potential of People and Places. In that dream, I was a college freshman, sitting in the cafeteria, looking over the sea of other freshmen who didn’t know who they were or who they wanted to be. Over four years, they would read books which they either loved or hated. They would follow the ideas in the books they loved. They would discard any parts which didn’t inspire them. At the end of four years, they would move towards careers. There was much potential to go one way or another. It was heartwarming. It was heart-breaking. It was unrealized potential morphing into something solid. Life tugging people in one direction or another.

We all come into life that way. Full of potential. We have likes and dislikes, clues, talents, a desire to try something. At the end of our lives, we know how things turned out. We see what had amused us, what had bored us, and what had disgusted us. At the end, we will recall what we did and what we didn’t do. We will see how our potential had developed into a life.

Along the way, we choose careers and life partners. We decide whether or not to have children. These are big life choices. We also see how we react to daily life and to challenges. Some choices may not look like “big ones,” but our daily lives are our lives.

If we have choices, we are lucky. Some people are born into limited circumstances. Some societies and religions are highly restrictive. Some financial situations keep people constrained. Each person lives a completely unique life on Earth and each of our incarnations on Earth are unique to us. We can sample whatever circumstances we are interested in experiencing.

This brings me back to this idea of potential. As I mentioned last week, our family threw a wedding for one of our daughters. It was a beautiful event. At the beginning of the planning process, I didn’t know if I could do this kind of thing. It took a lot of forethought. While I didn’t do all the work, it was a group effort, I did most of the planning. I used to be able to tackle big projects, but it had been a while since I had tried something so complex.

In the end, I felt very blessed to have been able to rise to the occasion and make this happen. I felt like I had support from everyone who was thinking about the wedding on This Side and I felt like I had support from those on The Other Side who inspired  ideas and smoothed out the process so things fell into place. I am very grateful to all of the souls who helped create this event.

I am also very grateful to my house. I often think that our house is not living up to its potential: we need better furniture, we need an upgraded kitchen, etc. On the wedding day, our house looked great. It was decorated and shiny. I felt like we had helped it fulfill its destiny.  This may sound funny, but it’s how I feel. Inanimate objects rising to their potential? Fulfilling their destiny? Yes.

Sometimes, we think about how we live in an energetic universe, and sometimes we have to move beyond “thinking” and use our hands to manifest our dreams. It is my sincere wish that we all live up to our potential.

I asked, “How should people choose the person they are going to marry?”

The answer: “Don’t ‘choose,’ feel.

“The biggest mistakes are made when people choose. They choose an educated person, a healthy person, a pleasant person. That is very good. But if there isn’t that love, that heart-spark connection, they will be two very nice people living in peace. That is neither love, nor passion, nor what gives you the spark to create in life.

“Feel.”

                                    Message Channeled through Laurie Hays

A few weeks ago, I was happily surprised when so many of you responded to my question about your energy affecting electronic devices. Apparently, this happens to many people.

Today, I want to ask another question: How many of you have seen angels, devas, fairies, sprites, leprechauns, or elementals?

While we live in a physical world, it seems that there are beings which can cross from one realm to another. Perhaps angels exist in the non-physical realm, but can be seen in the physical world when they are needed? Perhaps, some people see into the non-physical world and view angels every day?

The same could be true for fairies and other small beings.

Several people tell me that they see and work with angels. Mark Janssen sees angels every day. With them, he battles evil. Kermie Wohlenhaus works with angels to bring information through to clients. So does Dany Michaels. He’s an “angel reader.”

Kermie explained, “We know that angels are messengers from the Divine doing Divine will, and that they are not of a human body, even though they can assume a human body. Their normal state is energy, light, and sound.”

The angels had her tell me, “We have wings, but we don’t have to have wings. We can do anything.” She added, “They are shape shifters. They can take any form, depending on the message. It’s all about the mission.”

“If a young boy comes out of nowhere and says something to you, or a person rescues you then leaves without a trace, this person was probably an angel. Angels can come into a physical body to give you a message. Angels come in all kinds of variations. They appear from out of nowhere and leave without a trace. The person who has had such visitations remembers them forever, as if they just happened a few moments ago. There is a feeling of knowing that it was an angelic encounter.”

She added: “Angels are over everything in creation. Every plant, animal, human, and relationship has a special angel. If I am talking to someone about their love life, I will talk to their love angels. A whole different group of beings will come forward. Or maybe there will be only one or two. Everyone is different. These entities are a part of a person’s ‘angel band.’ The Guardian Angel is the director of each person’s angel band, or group, and also helps with soul missions in this incarnation. People have different angels to call upon to help with their various needs.”

Dany Michaels also connects with the angelic realm. When doing readings, he explained, “I am a little different. I don’t use tools. I just hear them and they give me messages for you. They know you better than you know yourself. They show me your soul messages.

“We all have a team of angels. Angels are not people who passed on. They are celestial beings created by G-d. They are different than human spirits. We have from one angel to many. The number is irrelevant. It is who G-d assigns to us.”

Some psychics tell me that they post angels in the room before doing readings or channelings. The angels protect the space and won’t allow anything in except the highest and best energies.

When I interviewed Beth Hays, she told me about a different set of angels: the devas of the plants. The devas are tiny angels which protect plants and help develop the plant properties which work as essential essences.  

Beth said, “My connection is strongest with the devas of the plants. Because I make flower essences, I connect with the devas of the plants.

“The word ‘deva’ is derived from the word ‘deity.’ It involves the non-physical. Devas are flower angels. For example, there is a deva for the Blue Morning Glory plant. The deva determines what the Blue Morning Glory looks like and maintains that non-physical to physical translation of what a Blue Morning Glory looks like. Each individual Blue Morning Glory plant can have a nature spirit that lives in or around it, but there is only one deva for all Blue Morning Glory plants. This deva is very similar to the Archangels and Spirit Guides, except that it is specific to a type of plant.”

Fairies? I’m not so sure what people see. I love the images of fairies touching plants to create magic. Have you seen a fairy?  

Sprites? Are they similar to fairies?

Leprechauns? One person told me that an interaction with a leprechaun changed her life. It lifted her out of a funk.

Elementals? What I hear about elementals is that they move the building blocks of physical life. For example, elementals build bodies and work within the human body to restore cells.

Last week, I shared information on my mother’s life on The Other Side. She is one example of how lives proceed as we cross The Veil. In her case, she is choosing to “sit on a bench” without thinking or doing anything. We have spoken with other souls who have passed and have had completely different kinds of experiences. Our friend, Randy, who was bright, adventurous, and curious in this life, continues to be that way on The Other Side. He is researching biology and designing race cars. Another person we know who passed into spirit is as gregarious on The Other Side as they were here. Each person has their own experience.

Some people who pass on in traumatic ways might not even know they have passed. They are unaware. Sooner or later, an angel or Guide may show them a light and the soul will take the opportunity to move through the light and awaken on The Other Side.

If people want to take time to heal, relax, or observe, that’s a fine thing to do. There is no time limit. There is no “time.” At some point in the future, they can choose to do something different. Guides and angels continually check on them to see if they are interested in making a change.

In a recent chat with Spirit, we were informed that our perceptions of the afterlife were accurate, but incomplete.

This was the message which Susan Sampson channeled:

“You have come up with images of The Other Side, which is not so far away, and you have come up with your own ideas and other ideas. Let me just say that what you are imagining is correct. What you are wondering about is correct. However, the amount of information you have is like 1/4 inch of what exists. For scale, let’s say Heaven is 100 inches. You know a quarter of an inch. This is because what happens in the other 99 3/4 inches is far beyond your ability to grasp – the grandness and the opportunity and the freedom; the absolute freedom you have, with no judgement.

“If one wants to sit for a thousand years and do nothing, that is okay. There is no urgency. There is no time. There is only this loving understanding.

“As you take your experiences from this side and mix them with your experiences from other lives, you see the grand pattern of where your soul is striving to go, and what your soul is striving to learn and striving to let go. A lot of growth has to do with letting go.”

Thinking back, do you remember John Hunter telling us that only 1% of ourselves resides within our human bodies? The other ninety-nine percent of our soul is active on The Other Side.

Back to Susan’s channeling. A few moments later, this message was added:

“When you pass into spirit, there is a gathering of all the souls that you knew in this life and in past lives. Hundreds of thousands of people gather to welcome you home. They fill you up with the love that you sought on Earth, with this love that you know exists, but have never felt. They are there because they are profoundly in love with you. It is a wonderment that assists the new arrival in assimilating into the energy and realm that you call Heaven.”


I love these beautiful tales of continued life and I am enthralled by the magical ability to bring messages from souls on The Other Side.
